5. Water purifiers and Sanitation kits
6. Ventilators and medical equipment.


 

Proress of Relief Distribution:

  • All relief materials provided will be taken to two entry points i.e. Raxaul And Sunauli.
  • The concerned District Magistrate in India or the Chief District Officers in Nepal will receive all the relief materials and will as per the instruction of the central government of Nepal, it will dispatch the relief materials to those locations and affected areas that urgently require the assistance.
  • In order to facilitate the Distribution of relief materials, new instruction of the Government of Nepal has made a provision that all the organizations, individuals who want to send to specific locations or specific beneficiaries, will have to have the concerned District Magistrate or the Chief District Officer of that location to send a recommendation letter to the Embassy of Nepal, New Delhi, recommending the organization for the distribution of the relief materials.

 


The HI Destination Management Private Limited organized a Disaster Management Program known as 1st Fearless, to train people for disaster preparedness on 6th May, 2015 at the India Habitat Center. As the chief guest of the program, Ambassador of Nepal to the Republic of India, His Excellency Deep Kumar Upadhayay thanked the Government and people of India for their support and assistance during the hour of crisis. Expressing his gratitude for having the honour to present the trophy as a token of appreciation to the 1st Fearless team for extending a helping hand to Nepal, he stated the necessity and importance of disaster preparedness training for every individual in the near future.
JK Sinha, member of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said that dynamics of disaster was of vital importance as was the understanding of the dynamics of economics.  Sachin Sharma, Director HI shared that the aim would be towards preparing individuals to carry out coordinated and well managed rescue operations during the time of natural calamities.
His Excellency Upadhayay thanked the 1st Fearless Team for reaching out to the earthquake victims of Ranchok Village, Gorkha in Nepal and providing their rescue and relief work .

Under the ‘Nepal Help’ program of the Delhi Study Group, the President of the Delhi Study Group, Mr. Vijay Jolly along with Saint Dr. Lokesh Muni and other dignitaries handed over relief material consisting of tents, tarpaulins, face-masks, hand gloves, sterilized cotton rolls & blankets to the Ambassador of Nepal to the Republic of India, His Excellency Deep Kumar Upadhayay on 06 May, 2015.

They visited the Embassy of Nepal, New Delhi and expressed their condolences upon the loss of lives and property caused by the devastating earthquake of April 25, 2015.

They assured and extended their cooperation and support to provide the necessaryrelief and assistance.

H.E. Mr. Deep Kumar Upadhyay presented the Letters of Credence accreditinghim as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to the Republic of India to Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Hon'ble President of India at a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on 30 April 2015. Today, the Embassy of Nepal, New Delhi received the Resident Editor of Malayala Manorama, Mr. K.S. Sachidananda Murthy at the Ambassador’s office. India’s largest regional language newspaper, Malayala Manorama offered their heartfelt condolences on the unfortunate loss of lives and property caused by the Earthquake of 7.9 richter scale in Kathmandu, Nepal on Arpil 25, 2015.

They further pledged to support the victims of the earthquake by supplying 50,000 new blankets procured from the best companies in Punjab.

Earthquake disaster rescue and relief information:

The massive earthquake that hit Nepal on 25th April 2015 caused huge damage of properties and loss of human lives.

There is the need of urgent humanitarian assistance in the relief and rescue operations. Immediate requirement of relief materials are blankets, tents, tarpaulin, food items (non-perishable), drinking water, medicines and primary health kit. 

The National Emergency Operation Centre, Kathmandu, is a coordination and communication point for the earthquake disaster information.

International humanitarian assistance could be coordinated through the Office of UN Resident Coordinator in Nepal/UN Humanitarian Country Team and by informing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kathmandu, in order to support the relief and rescue operations carried out by the Government.

The devastating earthquake on 25 April 2015 brought massive destruction of life and property in Nepal. The Government of Nepal expresses gratitude to foreign Government, aid agencies, business and social organizations, private sectors and individuals who wish to contribute in cash. Press Release:

An earthquake of 7.9 Richter scale struck Nepal at 11:56 am on 25th April,2015. Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi called the Ambassador-Designate of Nepal to the Republic of India H.E. Mr. Deep Kumar Upadhayay and expressed grief and sadness over the disaster. The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India assured of providing any immediate support and cooperation to Nepal at this difficult situation. Also, Hon.Minister of Home Affairs of India, Shri Rajnath Singh called the Ambassador-Designate and expressed sadness over the loss and damage caused by the earthquake.

The Ambassador-designate has expressed his deepest gratitude to the kind offer of support. A rescue team, with immediate necessary support has already been dispatched to Nepal by the Government of India.

H.E. Mr. Deep Kumar Upadhyay, Ambassador-designate of Nepal to the Republic of India arrived in New Delhi today to assume his functions. H.E. Mr. Upadhyay is accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Mithula Upadhyay. He was received at the Indira Gandhi International Airport by officials of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India as well as the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi.
